Alpine New Instructor Training and Level 1 Exam Prep

This Education Prep Course Event combines 4 days of training and education for the Alpine Level 1 certification.  Candidates will cover teaching progressions, skiing/riding demonstrations, and movement analysis skills for levels 1-4.  This course is fun! You’ll gain a basic understanding of the technical knowledge that makes up instructing while improving your own skills and personal skiing.  Our professional staff will inspire you to work hard and provide coaching to meet our National Standards for Level I Certification.  Successful candidates are eligible to register for their Level 1 Certification.


Day One:

Introduce the Skills Concept to explore and thereby understand how the movements the body makes can affect the skis. This will be applied to their personal skiing and riding.

Introduction to the teaching model, how to build rapport and trust with your guests.

Day two:

Continuing into the teaching model, how to determine goals, present and share information and give feedback. This will be done as we work on their personal demos.

Have them coach one another on their demos and presentations to promote comfortability presenting, sharing and receiving information.

Day three:

Taking the concepts learned over the prior two days and learning the application for our children and seniors.

Day four:

Putting it all together, making sure demos are presenting the accurate picture (demos), and that we are communicating effectively with our students.

      If you do not have 20 hours of teaching experience, this would be the best course to take to be eligible and prepare the for the 2 day Level 1 exam on snow.
