SENIOR SPECIALIST L1
This two-day event is for certified Level 1 Alpine instructors of any age. The event encompasses skiing improvement, video analysis and senior skiing and teaching models for beginning and intermediate senior skiers. Your teaching will be evaluated the afternoon of the second day (there is no skiing exam). Successful candidates will receive our Senior Specialist Level 1 pin.
SENIOR SPECIALIST L2
The LII accreditation Is an in-depth training aimed at coaching advanced and expert senior skiers. Successful completion of the accreditation brings with it a pin and a certificate. You will find LII senior accreditation to be a lot much more comprehensive and in-depth than Spring Convention’s three hour senior clinics that go out am and pm each day. The LIl accreditation is open only to level ll and level III certified ski instructors. You can register for this event through the PSIA-W website or office.
The first day of SSII is an interactive clinic on ways to teach/coach advanced senior skiers. The second day you will be given a teaching assignment for seniors. Your certification already tells us that you know how to teach well. Depending on your Lll or Llll certification, you are an entry-level expert or a true expert skier. We are not testing your skiing. We are training and testing you on how to adapt your teaching to fit the needs of senior skiers. Because of the high certification levels and teaching backgrounds of the candidates, the pass rate is extremely high. Successful candidates will receive a certificate of accreditation and a senior specialist pin.
