Your best chance of gaining a spot on the roster is by registering 3-weeks prior to the event.  Rates will increase 2-weeks prior and again at 1-week prior to an event start date.  Space in the event is based on the staff we have available and the capacity of the space/resort.

Course Description:

About This Assessment

The Children's Specialist 1 evaluates your readiness to demonstrate competency in Children's Specialist 1 against the PSIA-AASI National Certification Standards. Led by certified PSIA-AASI Western Region examiners, this assessment covers Professionalism & Self-Management, People Skills, Teaching Skills, and Technical Skills as applicable to this level. Passing earns your CS1 credential, validating your ability to teach children effectively and supporting access to Children's Specialist 2.

Who Should Register

This assessment is for All disciplines instructors who have completed prerequisite preparation and are ready to demonstrate competency at the Children's Specialist 1 standard.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Current PSIA-AASI membership

• Current PSIA-AASI membership

• Level 1 certification in your primary discipline

Recommended Preparation:

• Review the Performance Guide and Certification Standards at thesnowpros.org

• Attend preparatory clinics offered by PSIA-AASI Western Region

What to Bring

• Relevant Performance Guide (available at thesnowpros.org)

• Certification Standards document for your discipline and level

• Appropriate equipment for all terrain included in the assessment

• Helmets are mandatory
