About This Assessment

The Cross Country Level 1 Assessment is a two-day event that evaluates your readiness to demonstrate competency against the PSIA-AASI National Certification Standards -- on cross country skis. The format, skill areas, and evaluation process follow the same structure as the Alpine and Snowboard Level 1 Assessments, and are led by certified PSIA-AASI Western Region examiners. Passing earns your Cross Country Level 1 certification, the foundation of the XC certification pathway and a prerequisite for the Cross Country Children's Specialist 1 credential.
