About This Webinar
PSIA-AASI Western Region webinars are one-hour online sessions designed to deepen your knowledge and support your development as a snowsports professional -- all from the comfort of home. Each session is 1 CEU. Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs gives us a powerful lens for understanding what students need before they can truly learn. This webinar explores how this framework applies in the snowsports lesson environment.
What You Will Gain
By the end of this session, you will be able to:
- Explain Maslow's hierarchy and its relevance to snowsports instruction
- Identify unmet needs that may be limiting student learning or engagement
- Apply this framework to lesson design and in-the-moment teaching decisions

- Discussion of safety, belonging, and esteem as preconditions for learning
