Your best chance of gaining a spot on the roster is by registering 3-weeks prior to the event. Rates will increase 2-weeks prior and again at 1-week prior to an event start date. Space in the event is based on the staff we have available and the capacity of the space/resort.

Course Description:
About This Assessment
The Cross Country Level 1 Assessment is a two-day event that evaluates your readiness to demonstrate competency against the PSIA-AASI National Certification Standards -- on cross country skis. The format, skill areas, and evaluation process follow the same structure as the Alpine and Snowboard Level 1 Assessments, and are led by certified PSIA-AASI Western Region examiners. Passing earns your Cross Country Level 1 certification, the foundation of the XC certification pathway and a prerequisite for the Cross Country Children's Specialist 1 credential.
Who Should Register
This assessment is for Cross Country instructors who have completed their preparation and are ready to demonstrate competency at the Level 1 standard.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Current PSIA-AASI membership
- Completion of the Level 1 E-Learning course (required prior to registering)
- Ability to safely ski all cross country terrain included in the assessment
Recommended Preparation:
- Review the Performance Guide and Certification Standards at thesnowpros.org
- Attend preparatory clinics offered by PSIA-AASI Western Region
- Complete the XC L1 Candidate and XC L1 Pre-Exam webinars offered by Western Region

How You Will Be Evaluated
