Hello PSIA-AASI Western Division members

The PSIA-AASI Western Division seeks candidates who will add diversity and represent new voices to help strengthen our Board of Directors’ leadership team. We’re also looking for candidates who are interested in helping to strategically direct the future of our division, helping to improve members’ experiences, and finding ways to better serve our members and member schools. There are three seats open with a three-year term.

PSIA-AASI Western Division’s vision and mission:

Our Mission is to promote exceptional standards at all levels and disciplines of snow sport instruction. Build leadership in individuals through education, training and adventure. Inspire a lifelong passion for snowsports, adventure, and the mountain experience. Connect snowsport instructors of the world together in order to share, learn and grow.

However, our Strategic Goals have changed to provide more focus on what the Division needs to do in the future to serve our members:

1.0  Broadest Strategic Goal:  PSIA-AASI Western Division exists to create a diverse community focused on professional development and personal growth for our members.

 1.1     Members have access to use and receive values from relevant and inspirational education.

1.1.A  Provide multi-path programming that supports experiential learning.

1.2.  Members’ skill sets are validated through consistent and equitable assessment, certification and credentialing that meet the national standard.

1.3.  Individual members will experience and realize value through communication, collaboration, and consolidation between PSIA-AASI Partners.

1.4.  Innovate to create exceptional demand for PSIA-AASI Western Division services to the resort guest, snowsports schools and resort operators.

We recognize our lack of diversity and want to have a broader, more equitable, and inclusive representation of our membership. Our Board’s work will be to address these new strategic goals, and ensure that you, our members, receive superior value from our organization.

Also:

• Any Certified or Alumni member of PSIA-AASI Western good standing is eligible and qualified for election to the Board.
• Strong experience in running a business, and/or serving on either For-Profit or Non-Profit Boards is a plus. The Board seeks candidates who can bring a more diverse voice than perhaps we have heard in the past to help move us forward.
• Every new Board member will receive training to learn how the Board conducts its business before you begin your term and start serving on the

Please note: PSIA-AASI Western Division Employees can’t submit an application to serve on the Board due to PSIA-AASI Western Division’s current bylaws.
