The Western Region of PSIA-AASI stands in solidarity with our members in Southern California impacted by the devastating wildfires.
With the earlier wildfire raging through Mountain High in October and record low snowfall across the southern half of the state impacting guest traffic and resort operations, it was already shaping up to be a difficult season. We recognize the profound challenges these fires present and are committed to supporting our community.
20% of the current western membership (679 members) have been directly impacted by the wildfires.
5 of our 36 Member School Resorts are directly impacted.
PSIA-AASI West is promoting the following avenues for relief and assistance to our SoCal members.
❄️ HARDSHIP WAIVERS: Any members unable to complete their CEUs this season as a result of the situation in Southern California is eligible for a hardship waiver (good for 6 CEUs). Email info@psia-w.org to request a waiver.
❄️ DUES ASSISTANCE: For any members in the Greater Los Angeles area unable to pay their dues due to financial difficulty, we have extended the financial aid program through the end of the season. The application is available HERE.
❄️ GEAR SHARE: The region is actively collecting donations of hard and soft snowsports goods to help replace gear for any members that lost gear in the fires. If you have gear in great condition and would like to donate, or need new gear, reach out at landerson@thesnowpros.org.
❄️ WESTERN WILDFIRE RELIEF RALLY
This year, SoCal Rally is running in support of our Southern California Members, please join us in celebrating the resilience of our community. Whatever the last few months have brought, the newly rebranded Western Wildfire Relief Rally should remind us what good can come from being together on the hill.
THIS EVENT IS COMPLETELY FREE FOR SO CAL RESIDENTS
All members with a Southern California address will receive a special invite with a link to register for the event at no cost. Members from outside Southern California are welcome and encouraged to attend and may register through the events calendar.
Plan on event swag, guest clinicians, special visitors, gifts, prizes, and après social events. All proceeds of the event will go to support our hardship relief efforts for our Southern California community.
