Applications are due on February 1st . Must be received by 5 pm to be considered.
Applications must be COMPLETE to be considered (including recommendation letters.) Please read the criteria carefully. The Scholarship Committee is unlikely to give money for Certification (Level 1,2 or 3). Scholarships will be retroactively considered.
How to apply:
- Cover letter. The letter should include a concise history of your background in the industry. If you have experiences that demonstrate prior volunteerism and a willingness to give back to your school and other instructors, this would be a good place to list them. Please review the criteria for each award or scholarship, and include WHY we should choose you, and how you would use the award to ‘give back’ to the industry, your snowsports school and your fellow instructors.
- A letter of recommendation from a person that understands your commitment and contribution to the ski education life style. This can be someone in the industry or outside that has the expertise/experience to evaluate your character, skill and motivations. You may use the Letter of Recommendation Form or a standard letter format.
Applicants who are awarded a scholarship are required to write an article relative to their event experience or to relate how information gained from the event is being used, for possible publication in our email blasts to the membership, or “the Edge” newsletter.
Scholarship awards may be for partial or full event fee of an event. Please be aware that the number of applications always exceeds the available funding, so not all applicants can be awarded a scholarship. Thank you for your interest in continuing your snowsports education, and good luck!
