MetroSlopes: A New Home for Winter Sports in the Bay Area

MetroSlopes — The Next Gen Ski Lab — is opening this fall in Burlingame, California. As a PSIA-AASI Western Region affiliated school, we’re bringing the mountain closer with a year-round place to learn, ride, and play.

Born at the intersection of Silicon Valley technology and elite winter sports, MetroSlopes combines expert coaching with innovative ways to learn and progress. At the heart of our 32,000 sqft facility are four ski treadmills powered by the first-ever immersive and interactive projection system we are developing specifically for skiing. Alongside them, beginner and freestyle dry slopes, a moguls run, rails, trampolines, a ski-specific gym, and an alpine café bring the winter sports training ecosystem together under one roof.

To bring this dream to life, we’re looking for passionate instructors who love teaching and helping others build skills and confidence. We’re hiring full-time and part-time ski and snowboard coaches across alpine and freestyle, working with children and adults through group and private lessons, and junior development programs. Trampoline coaching experience is also welcome. Join us for year-round coaching opportunities, ongoing instructor training, and the chance to help shape a new home for winter sports.

Inside Edge Ski + Snowboard School: Weekend Ski & Snowboard Instructors

Teach skiing or snowboarding without giving up your weekends-off weekday life — or commit to the season from the beach. Inside Edge, Southern California’s home for personalized instruction since 1977, teaches on a custom ski simulator in a one-of-a-kind open-air setting on Coast Highway in Encinitas, in the parking lot of Hansen’s Surf Shop. It’s ski school, SoCal style.

Inside Edge welcomes everyone from strong skiers and riders to experienced, certified professionals, with placement based on certification level, teaching experience, and tenure. These part-time, winter-seasonal positions run Fridays, weekends, and holiday weekends, pay $18.00–$35.00 per hour with a dual-discipline premium and seniority increases, and include free simulator practice time. No simulator experience needed — comprehensive training is provided.

Blue Angels Youth Ski & Snowboard Program: Youth Instructors — 5 Saturdays

Remember the first time you linked a turn or landed that first little jump? That feeling — the grin, the confidence, the “I can’t believe I just did that” — is what Blue Angels is all about. Since 1992, the Blue Angels Youth Ski and Snowboard Program has been getting California kids onto the slopes, and it’s looking for instructors who want to be the reason a kid falls in love with the mountain.

This part-time seasonal role is just five consecutive Saturdays, teaching kids of all levels — from first-timers who have never clipped into a binding to kids ready for steeper terrain — at Mountain High and Sierra-at-Tahoe. The camps are fun, supportive, and non-competitive: no trophies, no pressure. Just progress, laughter, and snow.
